| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
Why a Junior Golf Magazine?
The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is one of the top 10 media markets* (radio, television and print) and one of the top 10 Junior Golf markets** in the United States, yet media coverage of High School and Competitive Junior Golf in North Texas is virtually non-existent. Compared to the media coverage provided to other High School sports, such as Football, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball and Softball, which get regular attention in both major newspapers, The Dallas Morning News and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and on local network and cable television, High School and Competitive Junior Golf is literally left out in the cold. The rare occasion golf is mentioned is only when a major event takes place in the Metroplex, like High School playoffs (District, or if an area team goes to Regionals or State) or when a National event is played here locally, such as the AJGA or USGA. There are no High School rankings in the local newspapers unlike most other High School sports. Over the years, several of the top College and Professional golfers have grown up in DFW and played junior golf and high school golf locally. From a High School and Competitive Junior Golf perspective, the sport goes virtually unnoticed. From an advertisers perspective, epople are bombarded with over 5,000 ad impressions daily and the days of effective mass advertising are long gone. Advertisers need an innovative, multi-faceted, affordable way to reach a targeted group of consumers to get the most bang for their advertising buck.
Why Junior Golf Monthly?
Junior Golf Monthly Magazine is designed to fill the void left by local media in regards to Competitive Junior Golf and High School Golf. It will focus on the "best of the best" of High School and Junior Golf and give recognition to a group of student-athletes that deserve to be acknowledged, but are sorely overlooked. Junior Golfers and their parents and grandparents
will finally have a source of informaiton and a forum to be recognized and advertisers will have an affordable, effective vehicle to reach a highly coveted demographic group: parents and grandparents of competitive Junior golfers.
I don't play golf, like golf or have a kid playing golf. Why should I advertise?
To reach the parents and grandparents of competitive junior golfers and high school golfers...
The fact that you don't play golf, like golf or have a kid that plays golf doesn't really matter as long as your are reaching a group of people that that have major buying power and is someone that you would like to have as a customer. Take a look at the demographic profile of the readers in Junior Golf Monthly and ask yourself this one question, regardless of what you think about golf: "Is this someone that I would like to have as a customer?" If the answer is yes, you're in the right place. If you're taking a trip across Texas, there are many ways to get from Point A to Point B. You may have driven a Cadillac all of your life, but if a BMW can get you where you want to go faster and for less money, and make the trip more enjoyable, then that's your vehicle. There's an old saying: "Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean it's not true."
Why is it so inexpensive to advertise????
No fancy office and no big salaries!
This is a business but we're not doing this to get rich. Everybody involved has a vested interest in high school golf and competitive junior golf, and giving exposure to the young men and women that play the game. Print, online and radio advertising combined with targeted email marketing for as low as $477 a month? That is pretty inexpensive if I do say so myself.
